Celebrating 50 years of the ESA Convention in Switzerland

A celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the European Space Agency will be held on 26 May 2025 at the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne, Switzerland.
This milestone event, organised by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation and Space Exchange Switzerland, is open to the public and promises to be a remarkable occasion for space enthusiasts and professionals alike.
The ESA Convention, signed on 30 May 1975, laid the foundation for Europe’s collaborative efforts in space exploration and research. Switzerland was one of the initial signatories. Over the past five decades, ESA has achieved numerous milestones, from launching groundbreaking missions to fostering international cooperation in space science.
